Campus Resources

The increasingly diverse and global challenges that face our society today must be met by an equally diverse and global work force. Students with different backgrounds and perspectives must work together to overcome the challenges presented by competitive pressures in industries such as energy, national security, environmental protection and even healthcare. Diversity and inclusion programs at the college level provide a sense of professional identity and camaraderie to all students pursuing the same or similar degree programs. Colleges today are encouraged to identify support programs and staff to help transition underrepresented minorities into university life.

Multicultural Student Services (MSS)

Multicultural Student Services exists to create and maintain a culturally diverse student environment, provide educational opportunities on the varying cultures on campus, optimal recruitment, advisement, and support services to prospective and current students.

LGBT Resources helps foster social justice by advocating for the rights of LGBTQ students, empowering those without a voice, and           challenging inequality. For more information about LGBTQ Resources on HSC campus, please click here

LGBTQ Ally Program

An LGBTQ Ally is an individual with the awareness, knowledge, and skills to confront injustice and advocate for equality, while supporting all persons, regardless of perceived or actual sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, who are experiencing discrimination.

In its 7th year of linking lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students with faculty, staff, and peers, the LGBTQ Ally program is an LGBTQ cultural and awareness training that allows participants to focus on understanding LGBTQ concepts and issues, developing an awareness of biases and recognizing heterosexual and cisgender privilege, and exploring their own ally journey and ways to become an advocate to create an LGBTQ-affirming campus.
